Multi featured but with some annoying quirks

Consistent winner of the Which? magazine best microwave, I'm guessing for it's cooking performance but it has quite a few annoying quirks compared to my previous (different brand) model. The buttons are not very responsive so quite often you find yourself having to press multiple times. The quick 30 secs takes unnecessary extra presses. The (noisy) fan often carries on for quite a while after use. It says it's to cool down the heating elements yet this can happen after simply using the microwave feature for 45 seconds? All this adds to extra energy use. I guess I'll get used to it but probably would have looked at other models too before purchasing.

Not the build quality you would expect from Panasonic

The model is generally a poorer build quality than my previous model (same brand: Panasonic) and models that I owned before that one. For example, the glass turntable has slots on the bottom for 3 drive cogs, but the drive mechanism only uses one. This makes the turntable wobble more, especially if you don't place items perfectly centrally and it easily pops off the drive mechanism when you are taking things in and out. What I really don't like is the control panel. It's too cluttered and far too easy to select the wrong heating mode. I've only had this a little over a week and already melted a plastic jug containing milk because I hit Grill instead of Microwave. The panel just doesn't have the modes separated like my previous model and it's not at all intuitive. It's a very poor design. Other than that, it does what you would expect. It heats, re-heats, cooks and grills what you put in it (as long as you select the correct mode :-)). It does lack some really neat features of it predecessors though. i.e. you could just hit '1' and you would get full microwave power for 1 minute. With this unit you have to hit 'Microwave', '1', then 'Start'. Also you could add time by just pressing the number of minutes you wanted whilst it was already working. With this one you have to hit 'Add Time', 'number of minutes'. All backward moves to my mind. Why do they do this? They always make things worse rather than better by fiddling with things that work, have always worked and weren't broken. What happened to the motto "If it's not broken, don't fix it?" Fools.

  • amazing oven high performance with quality and very affordable

i really like the easy to operate all of the three functions of th e oven , also the internal size of the oven and turntable is just tardis like compared to the quite small compact overall size of the oven ,also choice of power settings for all three functions which can be combined to prepare all types of cooking settings for almost every meal choice , also feels quality made and excellent finish to all of the stainless steel componants giviing it an easy to clean surface , very very pleased with my new oven ,

  • Slimline, but with great features and space inside

Nicely presented unit in black - smaller than our older unit, but plenty of soace inside. One slight niggle - the oven uses the grill element as heater for the oven, with an internal fan - there is a danger that if you use the metal tray that food might be burnt by the grill even when oven only selected - answer - pre heat oven, use a pyrex covered dish for oven use and put it on the glass tray, NOT on the metal tray - this tray is useful for grilling tho' Powerful Microwave

  • Cooks a dream

I had a Panasonic Inverter Combination Microwave oven many years ago, which died. I needed a new Combination Microwave oven and saw this on eBay at a very reasonable price. I bought it straight away and it's brilliant. It cooks beautifully. I would recommend this product to anyone. It's amazing and looks really sleek in my kitchen.

  • Panasonic combi brilliant

After my previous panasonic combi oven packed up(15 years of constant daily use as microwave and oven ) I decided to look at different brands but none gave me the flexibility of the panasonic so I went for the nwer version of my old one and I cannot fault it .

  • So far mostly good.

Have only had it for 3 weeks or so. So far mostly good. Spacious despite being 3 litres smaller than the broken Russel Hobbs it replaced. Easy to clean. Just a couple of quibbles. 1) Have used convection cooking just once so far and it took 20 minutes to pre-heat to 200°C. 2) Mine wobbles slightly on my kitchen worktop. The old one it replaced never did this. The 'feet' don't appear to be adjustable. Apart from that, so far so good.

  • Good product

Compact unit, very versatile on every day cooking meals. For cooking joints it's trial and error on timings. Give yourself time to adjust to the unit as at first it seemed to me complicated. The unit cook's meals faster than full size oven saving on energy. The unit does make a bit of a noise, when operating as well as after cooking has finished.

  • Revolutionised my cooking habits after 50 years!

Ticks all the boxes for cooking small quantities and hopefully saving fuel not having to heat a large oven every day. Breaded fish/Kievs stay nice and crisp with convection oven. Need a bit more practice to use microwave/oven together. Nice size turntable to heat 2 plated meals together without catching sides of oven. Haven’t had chance to test grill yet.
