Great scanner
Saw a lot of negative comments on this model but mine is working well. It’s a very specialized unit so may not work for everyone, but it handles the 700/800 MHz simulcast systems here well, good audio, very nice display. Noticed the 460 MHz receive fair, but that’s been mentioned many times in comments, so don’t get this unit if you mainly monitor 460 MHz range. The LAN feature is great, very easy connection & setup using Proscan software with SDS200 connected thru my router at work using a wireless adapter. Now I can record on my PC & also stream my audio out thru Broadcastify & still have use of the internal speaker.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not as good as I expected from the most advanced scanner on the market today.
I own a whistler trx-2 and I prefer it over this SDS 200, I put my same scan list in the Uniden and it just would not do the job that my trx-2 does, the sds 200 was it and miss on a lot of the sites and frequencies, I don't know maybe I'm just jumping the gun and not gave it a chance but so far I would not recommend this over a Trx-1 or Trx-2 scanner especially seeing how you have to buy the DMR, NXDN, and Provoice upgrades from Uniden, come on this scanner is expensive enough, it should come with all that installed already, in the Trx-2 it was ready for everything right out of the gate, no need to buy upgrades, plain stupid and greedy of Uniden to charge extra for something that should come with their scanner, way to go Uniden, anyways I can't recommend this scanner for being way out in the sticks it doesn't do as good a good as the Trx-2 on weak signals and such. I expected more from the most advanced scanner on the market today, sorry Uniden but you failed and your greedy!!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Awesome once you get it set up properly!
The units still have a small hum even after adding the fix that uniden supplies for free + small shipping charge. I found that if you use an external speaker and you plug it into headphone jack on front of radio instead of the speaker jack the hum is non existent at least to me. I realy love this unit now. Inside SDS200 issues
Uniden had no business releasing this unit with the KNOWN static and pulsating noise it releases! Yes there’s a fix but, It requires either you or Uniden opening up the unit to put a new small plate Inside of it!! My unit needed TWO plates put in it to silence the static and pulsating noise!! Mine came with a plate installed ( unknown to me) and the noise was still disturbing. Imagine my surprise when I opened the unit to put a plate in it and I saw there was one already in place!! NOT COOL UNIDEN!! I put the second plate over the one that was already installed and only then did the noise disappear!! This is UNIDENS fault not the sellers.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This Uniden scanner comes packed with amazing features, just plug in your zip code and you will be up and running. Updating the data base is a snap with Uniden software free database downloads. Very Awesome scanner to own,love it,does alot.

SDS200 long time user review
After owing every scanner made since the 1970's I can tell you this radio is impressive. Receiver is very sensitive. The display gives lots of information. Having the ability to change colors which indicate something to the user is a real plus. Now let’s be honest. This is not a tunable or crystal scanner. It’s not plug and play. Read the manual. Read marksscanners it explains the radio very well. Watch the YouTube Videos. Find a friend who has one and sit down for a while. Yes, it is pricey. However, you do get your money’s worth. The keys for DMR and NXDN will add to you listening pleasure. Uniden did a good job listening to the users. Uniden SDS 200 scanner

The new scanner is lot better.
I love the new scanner that have new features then my old scanner had. If you get one I recommend that you should get the scanner upgrade right away. Depending on the area where you live in.
