Good enough for my needs
The slashers are ok. However they could be made longer by about 6 inches to save one's back as the is quite a bit of bending when using a slasher. Each slasher has two cutting edges - they are not sharp (like a knife) but does the job of cutting down smaller weeds and bramble. The slasher appears well made.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good but...
Not really much use without a fair bit of effort. If all you want to do is knock down some nettles then it's OK out of the box. But if you want to actually cut them down, or deal with brambles, then you need to work at it with a file and sharpening stone to give it an edge. Bit too short and very thin
Bit too short and very thin, would ok for someone 5 ft 5". I am 5ft 10" so have to bend a little bit. But might be alright for very long grass. See can find a longer thicker one, that's made out tool steelVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

A sturdy stick is just as good
Great idea but quite short a bit too bendy (up and down as you swing sideways) and handle feels like it may come off and the thing will fly off and do some harm. Heavy Duty means tough to use
Inexpensive mistake. Cheap to buy and tough to use. Piece of bend metal, not very sharp. I had long grass to clear and this tool was unable to cut through the wet base because it has no weight. Not heavy duty, but OK for grass and young weeds
It was described as heavy duty. It's not, and is only useful for grass and young weeds. At £7.49 you don't expect a sharpening stone to be included, but you will need one. It blunts quickly. After a week I gave it away, and gone back to using shears.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Lighweight and fine for fairly fine or soft weeds. You'd need to sharpen it, with difficulty, for tough grass.
Easy to handle and light enough you can get a fast 'swish'. Not sharp enough to handle tough stalks though. Oddly enough the sample I had was properly sharpened for a left-handed user but on the blunt side for a right-handed one. The steel seems pretty tough so I had hard work to sharpen it further with file and manual grindstone.
