Disappointing Shoe Storage Cabinet
Rang a couple of weeks before ordering, specifically to enquire if the drawers would accommodate a man's size 11 shoe measuring 34cm. Female assured me they would, Soon realised they DON'T! Put drawers together & prior to fitting to mainframe, saw that such a shoe wouldn't fit & took attached photos to prove it. Shoe will only lie within the front of the drawer as far as the instep, which pushes up against the central Section 7 divider, so most of the heel overhangs the edge of the drawer & it won't close. Can't be fitted any other way! This applies to any of the size 11 shoes here - even the softer desert boot styles or sandals. The only way the unit can be used for men's shoes is by completely excluding the Section 7 divider, which means that just 2 pairs then sit in each of the main drawers, a total of only 6 pairs
- The 'B' screws are not quite long enough & the heads are far too small for use with the plastic brackets - they rip through the holes when the plastic flexes. If the Section 7 divider is used it parts company with the bracket because it is only secured by 1 screw.
- Brackets need to be securely anchored to the divider by 2 screws on the left & 2 on the right - one at the front of the short side (as is) & one at the back where the bracket criss-crosses in the middle.
- Equally, this applies to the back Section 7, which again is only anchored by 1 screw at the top on the back curve of the bracket & not at the bottom of the short side of Section 7.
- None of this applies to the back Section 5 since the bracket is anchored quite firmly in the centre of its short side in a non-flexing position.
Lamentably, there is no floor to this unit, so having a top but no bottom does not exactly help to maintain its rigidity. Likewise, there is no back & only one cross bar to hold it together. If we need to move it, even from one room to another, I have absolutely no doubt that it will fall apart. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
