Delivered promptly and in good condition. Instructions fairly clear but pictures were of a slightly different product. Required cables were supplied - apart from the phono to phono for the output, which I already had. The optical cable connects to my Samsung TV. Digital to analogue transmiter
It works ok and was easy to set up .i used it to connect my my new T V to my hi fi .I was a bit dissapointed because the volume was restricted ,I had to have the volume up full on my hi fi,and it still wasn,t realy loud enough! I used the optical connection and I think that is the problem.I tried to use a transmiter with a hdmi connection but couldn,t get that to work.In my opinion i wouldn,t use a fibre optic connection again in a case like this !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great bit of kit.
Enabled us to use our ageing hi fi surround sound with new tv. As our old hi fi only had AC connections and new tv had either HDMI or toslink, this converter did the job and was so easy to set up. Poorly made.
While the product looks and feels solid it is a very cheap item, the ports are labelled wrong and the fibre optic cable supplied is a very poor fit. When I first tried the product there was terrible interference with it, I pulled the item apart and founder one of the solder connections on the bottom of the PCB board was touching the aluminium outer case, I had to modify the PCB connection to stop it touching and insulate the case from the PCB with electrical tape. Old HiFi still Perfect
My TV and BluRay only have optical digital output. My old (but still excellent) Denon HiFi only has phono input. I now have brilliant sound. My only problem was that the supplied TosLink cable would not connect properly to my TV. However a second was not much better, so I think it is the TV socket. Connected to Xbox - Just Works !
Got this so i could get my Xbox one working on a monitor with no speakers. The Xbox only has optical audio out. Plugged in the supplied audio optical cable to my xbox from the box, then phono to jack lead from box to some speakers - hey presto - xbox sound. Background Noise Content
Whilst the resultant sound quality was good there was a persistent static- like noise often heard when D to A converters are not compatible with the digital input format. So it may be my TV optical output signal is not suitable. I rate the unit as good value because the Toslink optical Fibre link and USB cable alone are worth the outlay so you can't lose.
