Good item for a good price

The camera is small, yet produces higher quality video than I thought it would, the video is stable and audio pretty clear. The video is saved using the .avi / MPEG format which should work with most media devices. Delivery was fast. The suction pad is high quality and sticks to the windscreen well, and the cable provided to power it is very long, some might think to long, but a cable tie is included. Be aware that no memory card is included, and the instructions are quite limited. The battery doesn't seem to last long so it should probably always be plugged in. Only thing missing from this pack which would be a nice extra is little plastic cable ties that you could stick around the windscreen so the power cable can be kept away from view and tidy, even if the item cost a couple of pounds more.

    Tailgaters beware!

I bought this camera for its bright colour. I have put in in the rear window of my car facing backwards. It is having the desired effect. Most tailgaters drop back to a safe distance once they see it. Their driving calms down too. I decided to do this after my granddaughter was the victim of three rear-end impacts last year and one already this year! Every time she was stationery with her engine off. I believe it would not have recorded any of those impacts - and I don't want to find out either! I might actually put a card in it. I use a black camera of the same type facing forward, which records good quality.

  • A good little camera.

Had camera set up quickly, powered from the lighter socket and fixed to the windscreen, however I found that the lead from camera to socket is difficult to fix because my socket is between front seats and not the dashboard. Not being very handy am still trying to work out how to get power to the camera with the cable hidden, the camera, gives a good quality picture and has many features.

  • Ordered a second

Very pleased with the overall image and in car audio pick up. Be realistic and don't expect gopro 4K type video. The quality is high enough resolution that the images are clear enough for insurance needs. Night images are also of a reasonable quality. Had to purchase a SD card to go with the camera. Other reviews mentioned only 32GB cards work but using a SanDisk 16GB Class 10 card with no issues. Only niggle is that the camera only works off the car charger so think about cable routing. I'm pleased enough to buy a second.

  • 2.4 1080 HD Car DVR Car Dash Cam Video Recorder Night Vision

Don't let the price of this little camera put you off buying it. This is the second one I have purchased. Reason being,is the clarity of the picture, the easy installation, and simple operation, makes this little camera outstanding value for money, and extremely good value. Does exactly the same as the more expensive ones for a fraction of the price. Having bought one for myself and amazed at the results, I have now purchased another to set up in my sisters car, for peace of mind, and for insurance claims, and little mishaps, this camera is ideal. Protect your family and loved ones who drive!. Buy one now. You won't regret it. Ian.

  • Just what do you expect for eight quid?

Childs toy, the sort of thing you would get out of a cracker, the video output at best is 480p, for daylight use, it gives low grade video output, however don't expect to read the number plates of moving vehicles (car in front at the traffic lights, no problem). Field of view is quite narrow, but ok if set to view the road well ahead. Night time use, would imagine a better result would be gained from a blind man with an etcha sketch.... still, for a measly eight quid, just what would you expect. Better than nothing, yes, of course, however, to record decent useful footage, you would need to spend more and get a better quality dash cam.

  • Quality has dropped

This is my second one, I bought this one for my wife. My first one was fantastic, although it has Melted in the sun on the dashboard. Works fine though... The mounting snapped on this one Immediately and the power supply was naff. I took it apart and the board was not soldered in properly. Pretty poor quality, but it did come with a battery, which is a big improvement. When you switch the engine off, you don't lose the video file, because the camera didn't have a chance to finalise the recording. The camera is fine now, to the detriment of my own camera. Seems to work nicely.

  • Great for the money

Nice little dash cam, not quiet 1080p but good for the money, slight buzzing on the sound but again good for the money. Put an 8gb SD in and get 3 hours recordings. Battery last 30-60 mins but can leave it on charge and works great. Functions are easy to use and the AVI files it creates work fine when reviewing on my laptop. overall picture quality is good on the highest setting.

  • You get what you pay for

Not sure which camera all those good reviews were talking about but it certainly was not the same camera that I got. The instructions were absolutely useless and definitely referred to a different camera. (the diagram on the instructions even showed a non existent hdmi socket. ) The print was so tiny I had to take a photo of it and blow it up on the computer to read it. After a lot of trial and errorI thought I got it going but it kept switching off at irregular intervals. Sadly the short clips I got on the micro sad were of such poor quality they would not have been much use as evidence. Even on a sunny day number plates were illegible. Well, as I said, you get what you pay for and I suppose I was stupid to expect anything better for £6.55. So as not to be totally negative I will say that the sound recording inside the vehicle was quite good.

  • Cheap and cheerful

The first camera came and it wouldn't recognise any micro sd card so a new one was sent to me. This one worked immediately but, the quality of the picture is very poor and the colours are poor as well. Ok if you want a cheap camera as a deterrent.
