Cant do it better without a Breville
I replaced my hardly ever used (different make) Sandwich toaster with this . The previous one made such a mess each time I used it I hardly ever ate Toasted Sandwiches even though I adore them. BUT ,since getting THIS Breville Toaster it couldn't be easier and 100% Stress and Mess Free . I Love the way this one has been designed so grease and cheese/food juices don't seep under the removable plates . It is easy to keep Clean because it just doesn't get Messy in the same way as my old one did The Deep Fill means there is always room for a good filling . Leaks every time!
I've had this product nearly a month and in that time I've had no success with it. The first toastie I tried ended up with more cheese dripped out on the counter than in the sandwich. I didn't overload it but thought it was my error anyway. I've tried all sizes and thickness of bread, even proper toastie bread plus adjusting the contents in quantity and type but nothing makes a difference, the contents always leak out. Unfortunately I disposed of all packaging so the toaster will be going in the bin. This is a terrible product and only has 1 plus which is the removable plates and it certainly needs them. Before I used it I turned it on as I new it would smoke Only natural in the beginning, on use again it did smoke but I opened it before time and realised that the bread was damp but after awhile the smoke stopped and the contents cooked with no spillage . It was easy to clean the plates with no problem It is a bit heavy but then the plates are quite thick. On the whole well worth the buyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

The old ones are the best.
I like the idea of removable plates,and it makes nice toasties, but not as good as my 40 year old Breville which is still in good working order and you can fill it with loads of food and plenty of butter, I had to cut down on the juicy type of filling as it tripped my rcd when it leaked and got into the electrics, this is the down side of the removable plates in my opinion ( being an electrician). Great toaster as never ever sticks, lovely deep fillings and with removable cooking plates makes this item very easy to use and clean. Follow the instructions and the food never leaks from the sandwich like others I have tried. For the cost of the Sandwich Toaster it is a great bargain. Does what it says on the tin
It does exactly what is claimed but would only recommend medium sliced bread and not to overfill as it may be difficult to close and could put too much pressure on the handle. Hoping to break the curse!
Bought this one from erbay hoping to end the curse! I have had six of these over the last 3 years as they have all died the same way - by going BANG! They have all been replaced without question by the actual makers, which makes me think bad things. Even when I have told them they keep exploding and could be a fire risk, nothing is ever commented on. You may think im crazy to keep buying, but as regards cooking. are probably the best deep-fill toastie maker on the market - easy to use and clean, but anything messy like chees (main component for a toastie for me), then it finds its way inside too easily, and although throughly cleaned after this happens, it may be a grasual way of killing the element - it DOES go with a BANG, trust me. Hope thios one lives, as shortest life of others has been 2 months, max 7! What They Give You They Also Take Away!
Whoever designed this, was amazing in one part and completely stupid in another. It is well made, nice design, but you try putting proper sized bread on this. Proper toasting bread and it hangs off the sides. You loose a good quarter of the bread when making toasties with this, and it is it;s only downfall. Which is a shame as it is a nice product. Everything else about this unit is brilliant, really easy to clean, as you can take off the toastie plates and wash them very easily. They are deep dish which is also great, but that one issue for me makes this product a bit of a waste of space. If only they made it 2cm wider, then this would be the perfect machine for me! As it is, this does my OCD in! I like it but that waste of bread is a big shame! Which is why I cannot give this 5 stars, it really deserves it, but they made this for small bread, who wants a really small toastie sandwich, I know I don't...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Leeks cheese
We decided to get one of these after are old one broke so spent ages looking at all the ones out there and made are mind up on this one because of the name and the fact that you could take the plates out and wash them.we have used this machine 5 times now with different bread and every time cheese comes out of the back and goes under the hot plate .so now the wife says its not worth making one because by the time you have taken the plates off and had to clean all the cheese from around the elements you could have done it for much less time and hassle if you done it under the grill. Which it is a big shame because apart from it leaking cheese from the same place every time.its a great machine.so it's now in the back of the cupboard where it looks like it's going to stay only just after a few weeks.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
