A Very Nice, Basic Miter Saw
The saw operates very well. I had to replace my previous miter saw, which I accidentally pulled off of a board between 2 saw horses. The Ryobi advertised that it has stop points when adjusting the miter base, which was the main thing I wanted -- a 0 degree setting for a straight cut. My prior saw didn't have those default 'notches'. The Ryobi delivers well on this. You can also adjust the saw itself to tilt sideways for angle cuts, as well as adjusting the base. It's got a pretty nice feature with an easy left-side or right-side screw attachment (included) to hold the wood piece in place. The only thing that was different that wasn't to my preference, although it is just a personal preference, is that it has a bit of a kick when starting the saw in motion -- but not bad. I'm not a real tools expert, and I don't need a lot of versatility. I'm very satisfied with the Ryobi.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ryobi, Ryobi where have you
This model has all the bells and no whistles. This compound miter saw is easy to use and is one I would had enjoyed when I was younger and learned off it. But I had a small window of opportunity to convince my wife if I was going to build a wooden gate that a miter saw. My problem and my mistake was newer saws are now equipped with radial arms allowing the saw to cut a longer width up to 12" inches out using the extension and lazer projections to where the cut line should be. I personally like lazer settings but that's not as important than the extended radial arm which is important but the was my 1st one and was not aware of that I could of done better before I invested myself to get a brand I never had problems with. When I found the errors in my judgment, it was at my door and I decided to live with my mistake as is! So in the long run, it's a solid well built saw. Would I buy it again? Maybe the name of Ryobi on it but never this model! I also did not get clamps that was part of it's model, but being an old carpenter, I am surrounded by clamps all over my work shop and didn't need their clamps.
