high quality dimmer transformer
The dimmer is 105VA and it has 10 years warranty. I have always used this product since they are reliable. I have replaced a non dimmable ceiling light that my friend bought and this is the replacement. Much better than the transformer that goes with the light fittings. It has over load protection meaning, if the the user installed a bulb that will cause over load to the transformer, the transformer itself will not work and since it has a overload circuit trip. But once the load is within its limit, it will work properly. This is a good design since it is protecting itself from further damaged like burn out. Easy to fit transformer
Yet another of the G4 light units has failed in my house. Past experience from other light failures, (all installed around 6 years ago), is that the transformer in the lamp base has failed. I have previously used Aurora transformers for replacements. All you need to do is get the light unit disconnected from the power supply. Get it down off the ceiling. Check details of failed transformer, diameter and depth, max wattage etc. Order up the appropriately sized (dimensions and wattage) transformer.
