Genuine VW product to play music from iOS devices in a Mk6 Golf etc.
This lead is the original VW product that not only charges the phone and plays music stored on it but also does so using the built-in car audio controls, so you don't have to break the law by touching the phone. Cheaper cables will just charge the phone battery or also connect to the AUX output, but then you have to control the music from the phone itself. Bought from a VW dealer it would cost over £80, so this is a lot cheaper. Still scandalous that the VW Mk6 is designed to need such a complex product. replacement VW media/phone cable
Although this was an Audi cable and not a VW part it still seems to work seamlessly. Previous enquiries indicated that the Green colour band on the main plug was an important feature for the working on my model of car. It works...properly!
Having tried a couple of cheap alternatives that didn’t work properly, I decided to give this item a try. As others have said, it’s a bit pricey, with the upside that it integrates with my VW RCD510 as it’s supposed too.
