    A versatile pillar drill useful for many and varied tasks.

    This bit of kit provides a range of movement not available in most standard pillar drills. It means that you can drill wider and more complex shapes than is permitted with a fixed drill head. Being able to change the distance between the column and the chuck/drill head is valuable. Particularly if you have built or bought a drill table with a fence. The only downside is you need a larger space at the back of the drill/motor to allow the drill to move backwards toward the fence (if you have a fence). One more advantage, you can swing the drill head out over the edge of the bench, if you site the drill appropriately, and you now have a floor-standing drill.

    Versitlity

    A robust and very versatile drill press I have it positioned near to edge of bench above a vise , just rotate it's table out of the way and its possible to drill into the ends of long timbers . One of it's most useful features is that the entire head can be advanced and retracted across any workpieces by rotating the control wheel and locked in position I highly recommend this item

    Good radial pillar drill.

    Used it with a 24mm Forstner bit to drill 16 50mm deep holes in seasoned oak, a doddle. Good versatile machine. The cast iron table was a bit rough and I spent a couple of hours filing all the sharp bits off....shouldn’t happen really. However a good heavy machine.
