Came inexpensive without battery, but I had one
The way to own tools is to find what work well enough. My Ryobi drills, cord drill and three battery drills all are a bit heavy buy they it is new to me to not have to need a wall socket every time I use a power tool. This pole saw was reported as heavy , but that is what make a good motor as what I understand about a good DC motor. It cuts with plenty of power and I did not see it bogging down unless I pinch the saw, which is easy to do from 10 feet away. Good saw and I was able to trim the English Walnut that are invading here a bit in Boise from the nieghbor's yard. The landowner will not cut down the tree so I have the right to trim it off my property and I do not mind paying for an extra tool that I can use on some other tree.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

An awesome battery
A Wow Battery and tool, I hesitated to purchase a battery operated trimmer because of the fear that the battery would not last. Today I tried it out. I cut limbs off up to 8" in diameter without a hitch. The battery lasted the entire 5 hours I was using it. Note that I was also burning the brush and limbs that I cut, so the battery was not being used constantly. The ability to add or subtract extensions is very useful. I love the fact that the oil is automatic. However the container is very small requiring frequent refills. The only other issue with the saw is that the tension on the blade would lessen, requiring an Allen wrench to retighten. These are minor issues since the saw works so well. Be sure to read the directions, The recommend way to cut off a limb is very important and will prevent the saw from binding up when the branch begins to sag.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good value and works great

Does the job, but heavy.
I am very happy with the Ryobi 40 volt tools, including this one. However, this tool is awkward to use when fully extended and requires upper body strength to position it. My hand saw extends further and I still use it for limbs beyond the reach f the Ryobi.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
