This was pretty good for 1986, but was soon blown away as a cop drama by Die Hard & Lethal Weapon. What is does have going for it is exceptional chemistry between the two leads. Quaid is Mr Cool. Barkin tries to be prim, but her wicked smile keeps giving away how attractive she finds Quaid. The corruption story is OK, though small-scale compared to the contemporary Untouchables. Watch out for the Gaitor Baby!
Those of you stuck in the 80s will love this film. I had forgotten how much I liked it and have introduced my 80s loving 15 year old daughter to it.
