The built in charger can charge a BL1830 3.0ah Battery in as little as 38 minutes. Run time on the DMR301 radio is up to 24.7 hours with an 18V LXT Li-ion 6.0 Ah BL1860 battery. Solid, great sound. All the features you need.
Yes, it's pretty heavy but that's what I'd want for a site radio. Great features, controls are simple and straightforward. Sound is really good, plenty of volume. Only criticism I'd have is not super-sensitive on FM or DAB (compared to other radios) but then I'm in a fairly poor signal area. All in all, should have got one ages ago.
