    So far... incredible!

Tbh I don’t do these types of personal reviews as yet as I haven’t even opened the box yet but I have to say how impressive everything til this point. Incredible value and arrived within 24 hrs of purchase. I will be recommending should the standard continue to the product - many thanks

  • Most critical review

Most of the items made by the children in class broke when they touched them after drying for a week. Realize you have to make thick chunky pots

Brittle and fragile unless thicker than 2cm. The children made hand shaped slabs and they broke unless at least 2cm thick or more. And the pinch pots broke too unless they were very chunky. I'll know next time. The thick pots took a few days to dry. The clay does feel nice to work with. Use baking paper to model it on, as it sticks to many other surfaces.

  • Buy it. Great value quality product.

Fantastic product and very cheap from this supplier. Great for crafts and for letting young children experience the feel of working with 'real'clay after play doh . Great for us adults to get back to basics and enjoy just letting yourself go and see what you can make. It sets well and great painted with acrylic paint or just coated with pva glue for varnish finish. We love it and at this price we can just play😀

  • Super texture for modelling

This clay is really good for my modelling figures. It is easy to mix and get the right texture wether soft or harder use is required. When dry it is easy to paint. A really good value product, highly recommended.

  • Shapes up well!!

I have bought this 12.5 kg bag before. My last bag stayed moist for 2 years and i just finished it having made dozens of small clay models. If you keep it in a cool place and keep it moist and sealed I am sure it could last 3-4 years! I have added some photos of my models. I combined it with recycled lightbulbs and coffee stirrers to make some fun creatures!

  • An excellent product

I find this clay a far better quality than the more expensive brands available in the high street stores.

  • Scola Air drying Clay

Working with this clay is pretty easy and fun for all ages, it's pliable and workable and doesn't dry too quickly, giving you plenty of time to change your design if you need to. The only downside is the cracking while drying. As I make fairy house lamps,I have tried a number of ways to limit the cracking, cooler room, thicker/thinner layers but to no avail. I have managed to however make my own 'slip' to reinforce the cracks from the clay and it works amazingly! Finished items are solid, sturdy and easy to paint. If it wasn't for such bad cracks I would have given it 5 stars!

  • malleable, non-cracking, ready to display after a few days.

It was perfect for our purpose. Every year we have a large family gathering (40-50 people). This lasts for 4 days and includes a day when various members offer activities as varied as knife- throwing, basket weaving, tie-dying, spoon carving, fire-making, knot tying, dancing and more. This year we included clay modelling. The air drying quality of the clay made it unnecessary to carefully dry the models prior to firing. They didn't crack on drying and people were able to take them home with them after the camp was over.
