This is the first time that I have purchased a Carpet Cleaner, So I didn't know what to expect. the Vax Powermax ( 500 W ) itself is sufficiently lightweight so you can get from room to room etc.. It has a large Clean Water Tank so there is no need to keep refilling it continually it also has a long Power Cable which is very useful. Regards, P H.

Vax VRS5W Rapide Spring Carpet Washer,
The machine is good value for money as long as you are not expecting wonders from it. It cleans carpets which are lightly soiled but you should set aside several hours to clean the carpet of an average sized room for the actual cleaning process and the subsequent drying time. I bought this model on the basis that, with additional carpet shampoo, the cost was the same as it would have been to hire an industrial type carpet cleaner from a DIY store for 3 days. The bedroom carpets were not heavily soiled, but being light coloured, showed tread wear around the beds, but even so, I had to clean the carpets three times to achieve a good result. The machine is somewhat lightweight and it is still early days to say whether it is robust enough for long term use.

Thea great cleaner bvery easy to use
I found the Vax cleaner did an excellent job on all my carpets. Brought up the pile, carpets look so much better. The Vax has good mobility and got right up to the edge,.i had a Vax before for a long time but this one is much better than that one was. Best thing as well very little cleaning was necessary on this machine, and it was so easy just to rinse clean and put away.. Perfect as far as I am concerned.

Don’t bother it has no oscillating brush head so doesn’t deep clean carpets, it’s a push and pull type and a thick carpet that’s slightly wet would need arbor to push n pull it not worth the money or your time

Quality mACHINE
We had some heavy staining on our carpet where we had our feet on it by the sofa and with a little Ace bleach I scrubbed it first to raise the pile and loosen the dirt then machined it over a couple of times and hey presto, the stains had gone. Brilliant but it took a little working on first to get it right. Good quality machine for the price and cleans up nicely. Bob M. Northampton.

small front brushes melt on their fixings and drop off.. not guaranteed for this either it seemed..have to renew one or two each time it is used.. brushes have thin cheap plastic mountings... dont like using it..

Good affordable Carpet washer

Great piece of kit.
Used it on my bedroom carpet which is an Axminster wool carpet and it came up like new which is brilliant as it has been down for 11 years and although it gets a regular vac, the windows are open everyday and it had gradually got darker without me noticing but this Vax carpet cleaner has brought it back to the original colours.
