    good product but poor app

The watch itself seems to do a really good job with more features than you can shake a stick at. however we are apple users and the app on the ipad will not connect to the Fitbit no matter what we do. I also have a Mac book pro which it will link to but it is very slow and hit and miss. I do not know if it is the fitbit itself or the app that does not work very well.

    High Maintenance And Innacurate

I'm a middle aged bloke (50yrs) and until I took a serious injury last year I was reasonably fit. I was at the gym 3 times a week. Since the injury and the long lay off from activity I've struggled to find the motivation to get back into regime. I thought this might be the answer but I was wrong. To get any kind of meaningful use out of this you have to be dedicated to it, and by that I mean that it's like owning a puppy, it needs constant attention. Sure you could just wear it on your wrist and look how many steps you've done at the end of the day but that would kind of be missing the point. This thing tracks everything if you go into the full app support and also use recommended partner apps. I found myself being pestered, and yes, that is the right word because I was pestered into logging meals and drinks and snacks and all manner of other things. I have a wife and four children......nope, sorry that's inaccurate because one of them is now a man who forgot to leave home, and I work full time as a service manager. This means my time is important and I found it being frittered away putting meaningless data into my wrist worn E-PUPPY apps. At this point some people who own these things are probably thinking "yeah but it's like totes worth the effort" (Sorry for the generic millennial typecast accent) and they would be wrong. Why? simple... because after I'd had it a few days and it was all set up with my accurate stride pattern etc etc I noticed that I'd done over 8000 steps by 11.00 AM one day. I'd actually walked downstairs, made my breakfast and eaten it and then got in the car and drove to the town of Beverley. Apparently bumps in the road count as steps. This kind of tech may be useful in a few years but right now it's nothing more than a very expensive, very high maintenance, very inaccurate self indulgence. Mine is on it's way back to the Tesco eBay outlet for refund as I write this review.

  • Fitbit shows off its ease of use again

Bought to upgrade my Fitbit Charge. Really easy to use and nice and clear screen. The notifications are ok but not always consistent. But lightweight ideal upgrade.

  • Brilliant product and not just for super active people

Great product. Easy to set up but you do need a smart phone to make the most of it as most of the data and analysis is done via the app. Interesting instructions tell you to go to the website, then the website tells you to download the app... It measures sleep patterns, steps, activity, stairs climbed, calories used, heart beat etc. I love the gentle nudge it gives you if you haven’t done 250 steps in the hour (it gives you 10 mins to get up and do them). It’s not just for super fitness fanatics, it’s great for encouraging the less energetic amongst us to move a bit more. I love it.

  • Battery life dreadful - 1 day at most if tracking exercise.

I just bought this on ebay. I like the charge 2 because its easy to use, no need to press buttons multiple times to get where you want to be. My only issue with this one is that I would say its pretty old stock as the battery life is not good, it needs to be charged nearly everyday depending on use. As you can see from the photos, it was charged last night and after a short morning walk it's down to 30%. My original charge 2 could go for a week on one charge. I guess you live and learn, don't but old stock on ebay.

  • Fitbit charge 2 HR is worth considering

The Fitbit seems to work well. The notifications can become annoying, but these can be modified to suit your requirements. With heart rate monitoring on and used 24hrs a day, battery life is about 3 days between charges. Screen timeout is very short at 3 secs approx and can't be adjusted. My biggest issue is the Fitbit support. If you have any issue, which isn't answered by the help articles, then the support team won't find a solution and will fob you off with irrelevant answers. You will need to create an online Fitbit account too.

  • Constant companion.

I really do like my fit bit. I like to know my sleep times and patterns, heart rate and how many steps I've taken in the day. One word of advice, buy a screen protector. I scratched mine on a wall 3rd day of use. Not as smart as when I bought it.

  • A good basic fitness tracker.

Not as refined or as capable as later models, but it does work alongside my Versa 4 and newer ones won’t. Therefore happy.
