Loved by birds
The birds love this feeder. It is easy to fill and easy for them to access. In very heavy driving rain the seeds at the bottom of the feeder do get wet and you just need to flick them out as the birds won't feed on them. The squirrel has given up trying to get on it. Previously I had a bigger one, which worked well but eventually after several years the spring lost its springiness and the birds couldn't reach the food. Excellent feeder
This is a well made item and certainly does the job of preventing squirrels from getting to the contents - just be sure to hang it away from any nearby branch enabling these gymnasts to cling to the bottom of the feeder! All my small garden birds love this feeder as the perches are well spaced out and access to food is easy for them. I don't have the problem of squirrels in my new garden but purchased my second 'squirrel buster' as it's so good. Keeps the seed fresh and dry without any horrible clogging at the bottom of the feeder, and easy to keep clean.I would absolutely recommend this feeder.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Squirrels Thwarted
This must be the ultimate squirrel proof feeder. I have at last defeated the destructive pest and it has taken years of striving and expense. A truly clever and well made device that my song birds are perfectly at home with unlike the ugly, difficult to handle squirrel proof cages that I have tried in the past and repel birds like our bullfinches. This is a very clever design and will stop the squirrels chewing it and breaking it like the other plastic ones on the market. Sadly our squirrels have worked out away to balance so they can get the seed out. We are therefore going to have to mount it differently. Truly squirrel proof bird feeder
Squirrels really can't get at the bird seed because of the ingenious design. However, they can jump on top of it and shake the seed out onto the ground, so I recommend hanging a perspex dome baffle over the top. Definitely the best for birds.
I bought this bird feeder hto replace another of the same make which shows signs of imminent failure. The squirrels in my garden are aggressive and have tried for years to get to the seed by biting the metal mesh, swinging from the base or sliding down the hanging tube. All attempts end in frustration and failure but they keep trying. All this effort has weakened the feeder at the base and one day it will break, releasing all the seed.
