Incredible Mouse with a forgivable flaw
There is a lot to like about this mouse and some weird oversights on the part of the people that designed it.
Good parts first: This is a large and hefty mouse. nothing about it feels cheap. The parts that should be grippy are rubberized, and it looks really cool sitting on the pad. The 8 zone lighting is definitely stylish, and of course can be shut off to preserve battery life. Speaking of battery life, even with everything dialed up and pulsing it hasn't died on me between charges, and it charges very quickly. it is responsive and accurate. I can't distinguish between wired and wireless performance with this mouse. The configurable weights I haven't tried yet, but are an added bonus that I missed from my old g500; I'm really looking forward to messing around with it.
The bad: The dongle is big. Really big. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It baffles me that they felt the need to make the dongle this big, and I shudder to think of what would happen if I traveled with it plugged in with that side down in my backpack. No big deal to take it out, right? Well, the mouse doesn't have a space to store the huge dongle, so you're going to have to stow it somewhere. It grates on me that it's too big to fit neatly anywhere and yet small enough that it could easily be lost.
In summation? This is a great wireless mouse that is comfortable, stylish, and great performance. But if you want to travel with it things get a bit awkward.
