Phenomenal device for native files
If you don't wish to stream music and don't need Bluetooth, this is the device for you. Once you have good headphones and lossless music files, the difference in sound quality between this and much more expensive devices is minimal. I doubt that many, if indeed any, could tell the difference in a double blind test between this and a player five times the price. When you then consider that this will play lossless files for up to 51 hours on a charge, which is four times that of devices made by a certain other well-known company, your choice should be an easy one. The PD is very well made in aluminium with chamfered edges, and is a much more comfortable and practical device to hold than a certain other, more expensive competitor which has pointed corners. I have attached a photo of it next to my 120gb iPod Classic for size comparison. I regularly travel on a journey which takes 27 hours from start to finish. I can use this for the 40 plus hours when I am on planes and trains in both directions without the need to carry a battery pack, especially as it reduces the use of my phone. The JetEffect is fun to play with, especially if you have some older recordings where the limitations of the master are evident in 16/44. It is not necessary for most music, and you can programme your own EQ settings if you wish. I have simply programmed two settings, one to match each of the headphones I use. You can create playlists on the device as favourites, and each of the lists can be renamed with the touchscreen keyboard and they remain as lists in Favourites. You can also create m4u playlists on your computer using JetAudio, and store them in the same location as the music files on the device/memory card. I recommend the purchase of a genuine Cowon leather case, and a screen protector. If I were unfortunate enough to lose my PD, I should have no hesitation in replacing it immediately with another PD. A truly remarkable device for the price!

Quality sound with long battery life
Excellent little player, small and chunky but feels good in your hand, touchscreen controls without issue, and has side controls that can be used with screen on or off. Sound quality is amazing, big step up from using a smartphone as an mp3 player. I've started converting my CD's to FLAC for higher quality sound, just sounds really good. You can use free external software for this. Just search "best free FLAC converter". Doesn't have bluetooth, this is a wired only set up and comes with the player and charge cable only. Fantastic sound and great battery life
Flac sounds fantastic and there are plenty of settings to tweak it to suit your taste. I'm hearing lots of detail in songs I wasn't picking up before. Stick a 128gb sd card in there you are ready to go, especially with its superb battery life.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Having read a positive review in what hi-fi I decided to treat myself for Christmas. The sound quality produced by this small box of delights is incredible. I spend a fair amount of time listening to music on my iPhone via Spotify or Apple Music. Having converted my existing music catalogue to flac I was ready to go. The difference in the quality of the music compared with streaming is immediately noticeable with elements of the music I wasn’t even aware of when listening via streaming now apparent.
