I have been "messing" around with these devices for a long time, and have had varying levels of success or failure with most of them.
Toshiba(DynaDock) has surprisingly been at the top of this list for success for a long time. They really are "plug and play". I use this device with a Dell e6334 and an Asus ROG gaming laptop & a HP 8440p, and it works seamlessly with all of them. Win10 just detected it and installed the drivers without a hitch.
As with all "docks" there are plus sides and negatives. But with this, it is the lack of usb c connection. That, would make this perfect.
Aesthetically, the piano black finish is beautiful to behold. But like the aforesaid piano... It shows EVERY mark. From fingerprints to dust.
It also runs warm. Not hot. But noticeably warm.
Usability is amazing. It is simply great. However... The caveat...
Don't expect to be able to use ALL the features at the same time. The SuperSpeed USB port can only handle "so much" data at the same time. The first thing that goes (for me) is the graphics resolution drops and pixelisation starts to creep in. Then sounds become crackly.
Reduce the load on the device, and it works perfectly once again. Apparently it IS possible to "flood" the interface and the device struggles to cope at full or high loads.
So... Overall, I am very happy with the device. It does what I want it to do. It performs perfectly in my usage.
It may not be "cutting edge" but it is well made and functional. One of Toshiba's best.
