Shake well before use and during and splatter everything within range.
Be prepared with spare bits of paper to use to constantly keep de-clogging the end. The flow is not constant or consistent no matter how much you shake the pen before and during use and then when you start to write with it a blob of ink will suddenly drop from the end. Works pretty well.
I bought this for two main purposes. Firstly to highlight the indicator notch on my multimeter dials, and secondly to put marking on the adhesive vinyl I use to coat some of my projects. It works well for both, but the technique needs a bit of care. Rather than trying to write with it, I found it best to dab it on a few dots at a time, let it dry, then do some more.
