  • Most critical review

Poor title. Cooking Chemistry more appropriate ( pun intended )

I‘m a chemist. This author has clearly never stepped inside of a research lab. Obviously written for an American sitcom. Why oxytocin on gravestone. Abiogenesis is inorganic. Non scientists and Americans will enjoy.

  • Not about chemistry!

A surprising read, given its title. Interesting tale of gaining female empowerment from a very dark place

  • Good read at great value

It is just great to be able to buy a nearly new book for a fraction of the price of a new book. I only want to read a book once then pass it on so it is a very economical way of reading a lot of good books

Eautifully understated book. Some dark content, but this too is understated.

  • A wonderful story of heartbreak, humour and hope.

The story goes back to 1950s America, when opportunities to advance career wise, especially in the sciences were non-existent. Elizabeth Zott is simply not ready to accept male dominance. She knows her intelligence surpasses that of the team at the scientific institute where she is kept in a lowly position. It is a heartbreaking and laugh out loud piece of writing and I’m still reading it...
