A neat and vigilent Carbon Monoxide detector
Before choosing this Carbon Monoxide detector for a relative, I considered it carefully, bearing in mind the similar detector bought for our own house 6 years ago. I used the online 'Which?' survey, and found the review for this unit to be favourable. It is a convenient small brick shape so it will mount, sat on the top of a fridge freezer, or fixed by the supplied screws to a kitchen cupboard, with either placement facing the gas cooker. It is powered by 2 x replaceable AA Alkaline Cells (supplied), which should provide a long battery life. The expected lifetime of this detector is an adequate number of years. Quietly does it's job!
Bought this alarm for peace of mind, putting it near our large wood burning stove as it gets a lot of use during the winter. It was quick and easy to set up, letting out a piercing beep as the batteries went in, and is now just doing it's job. Just what I needed.
Item arrived on time. Easy to instal and to understand how it works. Apart from testing at regular periods and replacement of flat batteries, when the unit flashes, no maintenance is necassary. The only negative is that I couldn't find (or I may have missed it) instructions on what height to fit it.
