Matt Brown directs, writes and co-produces this biographical drama based on the biography of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan by Robert Kanigel. Dev Patel stars as Ramanujan, an aspiring academic mathematician from a poor family in Madras, India. He applies to study at Cambridge University during World War I and is accepted. Srinivasa is soon shown to be a prodigal genius and is taken under the wing of Professor G.H. Hardy (Jeremy Irons), but he still faces challenges at Cambridge in the form of racism and prejudice.

    Historically important.

    Very interesting story but watch the film before reading the book . The film misses out too much which makes it entertaining but not as good as it could have been.
