Solid quality for a budget price
This is my fourth such hob and in terms of features and power it's the best one I've had. Maybe the technology has got better. Positives: - There seems to be plenty of power for each burner; on some budget hobs turning up one burner would reduce the power to another, because two burners shared the same power budget. - Can genuinely simmer/slow cook; on some budget hobs even the '1' setting is quite high. - Child lock is hard to accidentally engage (hold down the + and - buttons together). Hobs with a single lock button are irritating when using large pans that can activate the mode (and it's beyond my why a child lock is necessary in any case, are toddlers going to be crawling around the worktop?) (Potential) Negatives: - Underneath there's a single large fan to keep the electronics cool, all my previous hobs have had one fan per burner. This is clearly a cost-cutting move; time will tell if it reduces reliability. Probably wise to inspect the underside every few months and vacuum away any fluff or dust -- the biggest drawback of induction hobs has to be the life-expectancy of the electronics, and the difficulty/impossibility of repair. - There's a high-pitched electronic whine whenever connected to power, and a different intermittent whine when the heat warning lights flash. My hearing is fairly good (wife cannot hear it). Generally inaudible under other kitchen noise (fridge, cat fountain etc) but it's there. Might be specific to the unit I received. - The layout of the controls (positioning of + and -) is not as intuitive as it could be. Overall I recommend this hob.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great budget item
I replaced a Bosch ceramic hob with this for my son who is disabled and I felt induction would be safer as he did set fire to a tea towel once with the old one. The only setback for me was that this is thicker than the old hob and boarder line did not fit above the oven, also the wiring has 2 lives and neutral wires that I didn’t expect.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
