A trusted brand that works. I take a lot of morphine that has an unfortunate side effect. My GP prescribed lactulose and movicol; together they help but sometimes these suppositories are required to just get things going again. Unlike tablets they work within an hour attacking the problem from the business end. That is important as taking oral laxatives can be dangerous for the next day with the potential to be caught short. These are pretty much guaranteed to work within an hour and to be well and truly over after two hours. As they pull water into the colon they soften hard stools (when faeces is in the colon the colon dries it out to retain water) which can be a problem with morphine. They also act as a stimulant which helps to get everything moving again. Overall they are excellent for those times that morphine causes a roadblock in my colon. firstly let me say an applicator is not included with this pack and being a "non glycerin" product you really need one as the product is the consistency of lard and IT WILL GET MESSY!..having said that the product worked after 90 minutes which is ok but not the 20 minutes being spoken about by some users,it simply gave me diahorea but at least it moved meVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very useful if you suffer occasional periods of constipation. Very effective, works within an hour so plan when to take it and don't go too far from the loo. They can be tricky to insert if your hands are stiff but applicators are available or can easily be improvised. A long time sufferer of constipation, I was pleasantly surprised this product worked so quickly. A bowel movement within 15 minutes. I do recommend it as a starting point to relieve constipation however I feel from now I need to continue with stool softeners.
