Outstanding quality for the price
Positive: + Surprisingly good sound: effortless bass, very nicely balanced easy-to-listen overall tonal space. + Noise cancellation works fine in car and airplane. You can hear if someone talks to you. + Light weight and comfortable to wear. - Sound quality is nothing special if the power is switched off (but really good when power on) - The construction feels a bit "toy-like". I tend to handle this set subconsciously very carefully in order not to break the set. Knowing Sony's passion for quality my concern is most likely unnecessary. - No automatic switch -off. Excellent value budget noise cancelling headphones
Bought as a lightweight pair of travel headphones for my wife and myself to wear during flights. Although a comparatively lower priced item the build quality is of a standard you'd expect from a company like Sony, they're well designed, lightweight and fold to save valuable space in your luggage. Sound quality is very good with crisp treble and full depth of bass. The noise cancelling is fairly effective reducing aircraft noise to a barely noticeable level, the headphones are comfortable to wear with well padded earpieces even for the duration of a longhaul flight. Battery life is excellent a single standard AAA battery lasts a good 72hrs of use and replacing them is an easy affair. Overall they're an excellent choice for anyone looking for a good quality, compact, lower cost, noise cancelling headset. Highly recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Noise cancelling is pertaining for only low frequencies, based on the box description.

These headphones are a joy to wear, I even sleep with them on listening to books. They fold up easily for storage. The sound cancelling works well as long as you keep a charged battery in it.
