    Does the job

Very easy to operate. I'm using it for converting colour slides to jpg. I'm very pleased with the scanner. it works well. But in the listing it says: Package Content: 1 x Digital Scanner 1 x USB Cable 1x Video cable 1 x Negatives (Film) Holder 1 x Positives (Slide) Holder 1x Rapid slide feeder 1 x UK DC5V Adapter 1 x Cleaning Brush 1 x User Manual There was no Video cable or Rapid slide feeder included. I have almost 800 slides to convert so the rapid slide feeder would have helped get the job done faster.

  • Most critical review

    Total disappointment!

Had tried using a projector and screen and taking digi photo of screen to get digi representation of slides..results just about acceptable but variable & bit of a slow process. So purchased DIGITNOW hoping for quicker simpler process and with results at least as good if not better. Set unit up & tried all possible settings. Process is, as hoped, quick & simple, HOWEVER, quality of image is so unacceptably poor that it renders the unit totally useless. The images produced remind me of a much poorer version of my first basic digital compact camera (2mp) which produced similar fuzzy pixelated images, particularly in landscape shots of trees. I persevered with this unit but sadly, have now written it off as a complete waste of money..my first bad e.bay purchase after many years. Before I even viewed one slide in the unit a small plastic flap with a spring attached fell out of it, but I don't think this would affect the image quality. I hadn't expected very high quality reproduction from a product at this price, however, as stated, my experience with this is that the images produced are simply unacceptably poor..I'll revert back to the tedious process of using a slide projector set up and taking images with my digi camera.

  • Rapid slide feeder function is excellent

The key factor in deciding to buy was the inclusion of a rapid slide feeder. I've got a similar product which has only got a slide holder and fitting the slides into it is a pain. The slide feeder isn't wonderful as the slides don't feed seemlessly into the viewer if you stack them. They tend to stick so they go in one at a time but it is still better than the alternative. I have not been able to change the date in the settings. So the stored photographs shows the default of 1st January 2011. No mention of date and time is mentioned in the settings so maybe there isn't that facility. It's obviously old technology as slides went out years ago and the blurb suggests that it is compatible with XP, Vista, Windows 7 & 8 (32/64 bit) But it works and does the job I wanted it to do. I left an initial comment which suggested that the rapid slide feeder was not as good as I expected and I could only feed one slide at a time but was still better than nothing. I have changed my mind on that as with extended use the stiffness has eased and I can now stack up the feeder fully. It really is excellent. I'm sorry to have made such a harsh criticism initially. Thank you.

  • Negative Scanner

For the price it is OK easy to use, but not as good as my Konica Minolta Scan Dual, The scanner is however in my opinion value for money.

  • Good for the money

Good for the money. Slide tray a bit basic, not very substantial plastic and needs some help to get it to slide in. But it works OK. Has to have the SD card in, even if plugged into the computer. You can then easily transfer it out on the card onto the computer. I would have preferred more exposure control, you can change the light exposure but no colour control, you can of course do more once on the computer on colour, but 'you pays your money'. For me this is fine as once I've gone through my old slides (1000+) it will be redundant. Look for it on ebay (used).

  • Not what I expected

It does not match the promo illustration of the 'slide' picture being projected onto the front screen. Far from it! The user has to hold the 'viewer' at an angle to see the small picture at the rear (not front) of the 'viewer'.
