Works awesomely!
This Ethernet adapter for the Chromecast is working just great. After attaching it, all Chromecast playback seems to be faster and more stable! It does however create an extra IP, so my DHCP actually sees both a WiFi chromecast and a wired chromecast. It is hard to determine which, or if both connections are being used at a given time, but considering the experienced stability increase, I do expect that the wired connection is primarily being used. Please note that it may be necessary to re-boot the Chromecast a couple of times before it runs entirely stable on the new setup. Eventhough there are a few unknowns on how much the wired connection improved connection stability, my own positive experience vouches for this module being worth the money and the wait (which was, by the way, only approx. 10 from China to Denmark).. Great for Amazon firestick
This adaptor allows you to connect your firestick to a powerline network plug instead of using wifi. Great if your wifi is a bit flaky. Plug & play connectivity and the firestick shows as having a wired connection fine on the status page. Be aware that if you are using a streaming service that relies upon MAC address of your device, this adaptor WILL change this as it will use the MAC address of the wired connection which is different to the wireless MAC. You'll need to update your Mac address with your service provider. Apart from that, it works seamlessly, very fast transfer speeds and just does what it says. Makes casting setup easy and streaming smooth.
I'd had quite a lot of difficulty setting up two different Chromecast dongles via wifi. This made it simple and painless. Thereafter, streaming (usually from a NAS drive) is smooth. Great Chromecast solution
I have a Chromecast in a poor WiFi reception area. This solved my problem immediately. I now have a solid ethernet connection to my Chromecast and can watch with no dropouts, freezing or buffering - and the ethernet connection that I am using is via a homeplug. Better performance than using wifi
