Kodak is hitting homeruns in the value game.
The FZ53 is exactly what i wanted, Compact, Convenient, Capable. Please DO learn the menu and options, which are quite extensive for so economical a camera, and you will be taking GREAT shots. Simplest thing is to choose appropriate "Scene" for you cab set that to "Auto" but for indoors or Landscapes might want to choose a setting. Perhaps the one complaint may be the battery life but I now have it set to max battery saving mode and I'll see if that makes a difference. Otherwise with battery saver OFF I think it stayed on continuously about 30 - 40 min. b4 shutting down. Not a biggie to me. Otherwise, Kodak did an excellent job on the quality of this little camera and features for the price are outstanding. Pics below were out of the box with everything in "Auto" settings. Very happy. Super Value!

Upgraded FZ43 to FZ53
This is a great update to the previous model, which I am replacing. The most important feature is the chargeable battery that has a longer life than double A disposables.
