Did You Hear That? Me Either! Must Be A Honda
Never owned a Honda generator before. I've had everything from, loud enough to wake the dead to my main generator, a Kubota Lowboy 2. Absolutely nothing wrong with my kubota, but no need to have 10kw running just to power 2kw of stuff. So, I now have my first Honda Generator. Grant it, i've only added the oil, added ETHANOL FREE gas and started it. Btw, don't get upset after the first 5 times of pulling and it doesn't start.. No no no! TURN THE FUEL VALVE ON! Wala, started right up. (be sure and have the Eco switch to OFF before starting) Plugged in my wifes hair dryer, didn't even hiccup! Shut off the hair dryer, and put it in ECO Mode. waited a few, then kicked on the hair dryer on low, kicked up the generator and worked as it should.. put the hair dryer on high and, it went full bore! Hair dryer worked great on all outlets. Eco mode (although a difft tone) seems quieter then a hair dryer. I shut off the hair dryer, and removed it from the plug. Shut off the generator and told my wife to start it, I showed her the choke (not needed when its already warmed up), showed her one time how to do it all, she pulled the rope, and wala! started right up! BE CAREFUL THOUGH, Late 2016 and 2017 models, there IS a recall on some. Check Consumer reports. Mine? The place I got it said the serial number was not in the group of recalls. Overall? It's QUIET! Has some good output in wattage, 4 GFCI receptacles, EASY to start, holds at least 2 gallons and, should last quite a while. The oil is any 10w/30 and CAN use 5w/30. Read the manual, get to know it and hopefully get to use it reliably.
