It's not heavy, it's not huge but it does a wonderful job of hovering up.
It collects as much dirt as a much larger vacuum, the motor is quieter and it weighs a lot less. It is really easy to vacuum your stairs with, it sits on the step. My larger one hung over the side of the step and had to be held onto and balanced with one hand while using the other to sweep the step. There is also a useful mini motorised sweeper included that pushes onto the hose. The hose end has a plug inside it that allows you to attach the mini sweeper, so your not just pushing a tool over the stair carpet, the carpet is being properly brushed and sucked at the same time. You can change between hard floor and carpet and there are dusting and crevice tools which for me covers all things I want to vacuum. It must be ok because there is a three year warranty so Vax must think it's going to last that long. Vax U85 better than Vax Edge!?
I replaced my VAX U85 with this model & I am of the opinion that the U85 is superior to this one in a number of ways: Vax Edge cons: a) The 'waste' container is awkward to hold when emptying & brushing clean. b) The filter & inner is difficult to remove because of the push up' holding mechanism. c) The 'delicate' & thin metal 'filter' is hard to clean do to the bristles of the brush catching in the holes. d) The battery very quickly drops from '4 green' lights to an 'ANNOYING' flashing red light when 'boost' is used for more than a couple of minutes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Quality product, great value for money.
Having been disappointed in other brand cordless vacuums, I have been very impressed with the Vax. It actually "feels" a robust unit. The brittle/fragile feel of others construction is not present here. The 2 batteries are long lasting and interchangeable with the other vax appliances I own.... Great. On the lowest power setting, it is so quiet in comparison to the others, and my two dogs can tolerate it without having to attack it. A light weight unit easily welded, with great pick up. Arrived in good time in original box. Brand new but no batteries or charger as expected. I had a new one with new batteries so I took one , plugged it in and now use it upstairs, saves carrying it around. So now have a complete spare for the price of 1 piece.
