An upgrade for the BT Youview box
Bought to replace a BT2100 box which had became slow and glitchy. The ee TV Pro is more powerful, more responsive and the sound output is better. That's in terms of the output to wireless headphones via the digital optical sound port - previously there was a very slight buzz. It's an unusual size so it was no longer possible to put our youview box on top of our Blu-ray player. This drastic physical change in size was clear in photos of the ee TV Pro box but the actual dimensions weren't given. It is approximately 140mm deep, 310mm wide and 38mm high. Our Youview box is within a hi-fi cabinet. With the BT box the doors had to be left open and the remote aimed directly at the box. This ee TV Pro box doesn't require line of sight for the remote. The biggest improvement is that so long as the box is close to the router you can connect with wi-fi instead of ethernet cable. If you have a BT box it will swap over without issues apart from re-installing and validating the apps. There are also ee mini (non-recording) ee boxes available to add cover to other rooms.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
