But am disappointed that the handle was cracked and that there was old cleaning residue within the pipes, cleaner heads and accessories. It's okay. Sum parts don't work.
I used it once on a deep clean It works great for the carpet. But the tools for the stairs and upholstery don't work. And I have some stains on my carpet that did not come out. good machine
after my previous vax had died i wanted another. i read loads of reviews and the vax platinum cam up as a good machine. but! the price was too much for me, so i started looking at second hand and vax reconditioned came up for near half the price of new with a warranty. i bought it. put it straight to work and it performed brilliantly slurping what looked like gravy out of the carpet. my only gripe is it needs its tanks emptying and filling more often than my old machine but on the whole i am impressed and satisfied. also an accessory was missing and vax customer service supplied it without fuss reconditioned? the machine showed no signs of use, like new just in a plain box. ex showroom? but i dont mind for 50% discountVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great but too heavy
Had to return this item as although we were pleased with cleaning power etc. we found the product far too heavy for us to use safely and for this reason could not fully recommend it We are elderly and had not taken into consideration that we do not have the strength and energy that we had twenty years ago when we last owned a vax carpet cleaner.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Best carpet cleaner I’ve used
I’m really impressed with this cleaner. I’ve hired a rug doctor and a karcher but this is just brilliant. Having a hairy large dog means cleaning carpets at least twice a year is essential. The karcher was good but the van is excellent. The agitation brushes have cleared the traffic stains in the hallway much more efficiently and drys so much better too. It’s ever so well built too, not as heavy as I expected. I’m so so pleased I’ve invested in this vax cleaner. It’s even cleaned my tiled kitchen better than anything else I’ve tried. Refurbished Is a Cheaper Way to the Very Best Carpet Cleaner
This is from the manufacturer's refurbished site so you get what is an effectively new product for far less with the usual full guarantee. This particular cleaner regularly comes out top in reviews and it does deliver everything promised. It is said to out-perform anything normally hired. Your carpets will get thoroughly cleaned and the hose tool does stairs etc. very well. It is quite economical on water and cleaner when used properly. It is bulky and although every effort to reduce weight has clearly gone into the design, it is going to be heavier than some. Well worth it - effective and easy to use!!
Pet owner review: I’ve only received my vax in the last week but I’ve used it twice to clean two rugs downstairs. The one rug is fairly new and looked clean but it really drew out some dirty water, I was shocked! Unfortunately my elderly dog had an accident on it a few days later but it was easy to clean up and there is no pee stain or smell. The other rug is a lot older and having three dogs you can imagine… I’m going to need to wash that one a few times but from the first go it looked so much brighter and smells fresher. I don’t have carpets elsewhere, I’ve just bought it for the rugs which get a lot of use. For the vax itself I found it incredibly easy to use. For its bulk I still feel it’s highly manoeuvrable and operation is incredibly simple. I’ve not really used the hose yet but it is very long (and heavy) so can imagine it would do the stairs no problem. You will need more cleaning solution than you expect so make sure you purchase a larger bottle at the same time. The water extraction is good, I’d seen a YouTube review video which showed a lot of excess water must have been left in the carpet when comparing what was put into the clean water chamber compared to what came out but when I’ve checked my tanks I think it’s done a real good job of extraction. My big rug is incredibly thick and heavy quality and it’s just damp to the touch and totally dry in a few hours, where as my thinner rug was dry in an hour. I’m impressed and really glad I purchased this, I’m sure it will be getting regular use as my home now smells and looks fresher.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Fantastic machine although I do have one major problem. It's incredibly heavy(9.6 kilos) but the extra long hose helps to mitigate any carrying difficulties. And yes, it is very noisy...just make sure the neighbours are out when you want to use it!! My lovely cleaning lady is bowled over by this cleaner, says it's better than hers as it does the stairs and upholstery as well as all the carpets.
