Good value filter cartridges, fit well in my Brita Aluna & Marella filter jugs. Supplied with filter bypass gadget.
These filter cartridges are very good value, being about half the price of the supermarket-branded filters I usually get. I just fitted my first one today, and the filters fit fine in both my my Aluna & Marella Brita jugs. I didn't bother to soak it, but just put it straight in the jug. The pack comes with a little gadget to open up the flow-restriction valve in the jug. However, I didn't use it, as upon investigating the filter, I noticed that it was only weakly attached to the hopper, so I removed the valve completely. So now I can use any type of oval filter in my jug. The first thing I noticed was that water seems to flow more quickly through it than with my old filter brand. The water tasted ok, but not quite the same as with my old filters, perhaps a tiny hint of a metallic taste? But it's not bad though. Maybe this will improve as the contents swell by being soaked with water, and with repeated use?Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Don't trust it
Hunt the one piece of plastic thrown loose in box assumed it was to insert into filters supplied as they are not compatible to approved better copies result slow single drop.advised supplier can collect or I will bin as not in a position to return. compatible water filters
I have always used branded replacements, and despite some reviews were not complimentary to these I have found so far they are just as effective as the branded ones.My black tea still has no scum, like one gets useing tap water, and I have so far not experienced any floating bits of charcoal.When I find they last the same time I would give these 5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Water filter csrtridges
These are not the genuine Brita Maxtra cartridges. They come under the name of ‘compatible’. They are much cheaper which is a bonus. They do the job but not quite as good as the genuine cartridges.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good quality for a good price
The water flows quickly and it comes out clean. My kettle is free of limescale. However, if someone is very picky when it comes to taste and buys these filters, well, they can be a little bit disappointed since the taste is slightly different than the water filtered by the original Brita filters (the water is still really good though!). Generic Water Filter Cartridges
The 6 pack of cartridges were dispatched very quickly. I found however, that for my Brita Liquell Cool water jug, the cartridge has to be pushed very firmly into place otherwise the fit isn't snug enough and the water pours through the resulting gap and is not being filtered. For this reason, I initially thought these filters wouldn't be suitable for my Liquell jug but on refitting the filter and pushing it into place, the water then filters through correctly at a slow pace.
