The (Almost) Perfect Kitchen TV
I bought this 24-inch Philips as a direct replacement for an ageing 22-inch, 720p Bush TV. The increased screen size and clarity was immediately noticeable, as were the sharp, crisp, HD images. There are a fair few options and presets play around with, and the TV will auto-update when necessary, if left on standy. The TV design is simple but quite attractive thanks to its basic, but glossy, 'picture frame' appearance and very low feet, and the whole unit is incredibly lightweight. The remote control is absolutely fine for the price, but it did take me a week or so to get used to the channel numbers being situated at the bottom of the remote rather than at the more usual top position.
My only slight disappointment is that the maximum sound output is maybe 20% down on what I, personally, would describe as ideal - others may feel differently, of course. All the same, it feels a tad under-powered to me, though the actual sound quality itself is perfectly acceptable. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, but there again I'd expect to be - this is a Philips product, after all.
In short, a very nice product for the money that deservedly gets a solid 8.5/10 from me.
