Good all in one Amp/DAC to upgrade a PC.
Overall, the sound quality is extremely good and the feature set is nice. The DAC section is very detailed and offers a number of nice EQ options. The parametric EQ is very minidsp reminiscent, and the DIRAC does help add directionality to the sound in gaming at the cost of some low end response. The amplifier section is very very clean sounding. The THX feed forward correction makes for a very low noise floor. No audible noise at all from my Fostex TR-X00 Mahoganies, though there are faint microphonics around radio sources like phones. When I say faint, it was only audible in my better ear and really only at louder listening volumes while on the balanced output. The single ended output did not produce any audible noise at all, but does seem less powerful and also less resolving very slightly, though that could be from the heavy stock cable versus the Sky Audio cable I was using for balanced.
