Built like a tank. Will blend anything short of case hardened steel.
Pros- Probably the best blender out there. Two horsepower motor more than enough for home use and could be used professionally in bar or restaurant. Great company support for any unlikely problems. It is built like a tank. Cons- The plastic jar is the industry standard but it will poison you with BPA's and phenothalates. This can cause heart and liver disease and if you are a dude it can shrink your balls, lower your sperm count, and grow you some killer man boobs. If you are still a girl it can lower the age of the onset of puberty, hyper sexualize you and turn you into Jessica Rabbit. How cool is that ! WOW !!~!~! If you are a guy not to worry. A lot of really cool chicks love man boobs more than they love their gay male girlfriends. Far out man ! At this rate I should be able to breast feed in no time at all. We are all forced to live in a toxic chemical and nuclear soup anyway so this is just like spitting in the ocean but if it still gets your panties in a knot just relax and spend some extra money and buy a stainless steel jar. Works?
I suppose I was a fool to assume the item would come in working condition. The screws that hold the item together have all been removed and are missing. It won’t operate at high speeds without wobbling so much property damage is eminent. I’ll try to use it for parts to repair my existing vitamix base. Oldie but a Goodie
I have owned several high performance blenders over the last dozen years and I have came to the conclusion that vitamix makes the best machines, hands down, no comparison. This particular unit is from 1996, yes that means it is 21 years old at this point in time. It runs and blends great without issues. Workhorse machine!

Hands down best blender evet
I will pay for this blender with what I save in going to Smoothie King, Jamba Juice, and Starbucks. Drinks are silky smooth, my batters are lump free, and I anxiously await to try a soup! I have also found this to be the quietest blender I have ever owner- the variable speed also eliminates the startle to everyone else in the home. I have the original stainless steel version that i purchased 40 yrs ago which is still in perfect working order with the reverse attachment switch.
