Easy to use and great results
I set out to make my car quieter on the motorway and thus product has made my car quieter on the motorway and less "crash" over bumps so that's an achievement. The 2mm silent coat is easy to cut out and bend to shape. I used a rubber insulation roller to both shape and to aid sticking down of the product. I had to use a heat gun a couple of times to stretch the insulation into a recess but generally used it cold. As I installed it a few days before Christmas it wasn't warm outside either but this didn't cause any issues. Once you have removed the seats, trim panels and carpets it's a doddle. The only downsides are the cost as this pack covered about 80% of my car leaving the front doors and boot floor stil to do ( these will be done at a later date) means that I will need to buy some more which means that this isn't a cheap option but it is still cheaper than some on the market. There are cheaper alternatives but if you go to the effort of this process then you really only want to do it once. I would recommend this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent Sound damping qualities!
I have tried many sound proofing materials for panel vibration damping and have soundproofed quite a few cars. I have used standard auto bitumen pads that you can buy from most good auto car shops, quite cheap and without an aluminum layer. I had to use several layers to make up for one layer of silent coat. It is very very good. Not just in terms of sound proofing, but it is very easy to apply. You don't need to use heat to apply it, it just sticks like glue and conforms to the panels even in cold weather. I used this on my firewall, doors, bonnet, floor, wheel arches, pretty much every where I could stick it that had a metal surface. When I go over bumps now I no longer hear a thud noise, but more of a very muffled quiet "doof". It does block out some of the other noises but I used closed cell foam for that job in conjunction with this. It also looks good once applied! Very good product and quite cheap considering the amount you can cover with a bulk pack and the effectiveness of a single layer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Silent Coat and my van
I am converting a van and after a bit of research i went for Silent Coat. It is very easy to use and has made a substantial difference. I decided to avoid completely covering surfaces but apply patches... you can hear the difference immediately just by tapping the pannel before and after application. I'm am by no means saying that other similar wouldn't work in the same way, i am merely saying that i will use Silent Coat in future projects.
