Consider this over all the Others
I replaced a Nest doorbell with this product because it works easily with Blue Iris and does not require a subscription. Makes good images and has good sensitivity. This worked without the need of a WIFI extender (Unlike the nest product). To really take advantage of the nest camera features you need to have a subscription (save videos over an extended period time) Additionally you can not easily add the nest camera to you home security system. This product with Blue Iris software matches my requirements. The Amcrest Chime kit is larger than the Nest product, and I had to install it on top of my doorbell chimes, nest fit inside.(see picture) I had trouble setting up Doorbell, because my phone app did not have a good enough WIFI signal,(The doorbell saw the WIFI just fine) I had to stand with my phone app close enough to the WIFI router and the Door Bell to set up camera. Both Nest and Amcrest required a phone app to install the systems. Amcrest does offer a windows IP config app (free) but I did really try it.(Look at the pictures yes I do have a low voltage underground wire to the doorbell)

Need to check the small parts before buying.
The doorbell itself was a good buy except for the fact that the chime kit was missing the wire harness needed to connect to the existing mechanical door chime. So the chime is useless until I can find either another harness or a connector (unlikely) to make my own. By the way, Amcrest support was of no help since it was a used doorbell. The doorbell works great, thus the three stars.

Neat video doorbell that works with Blue Iris.
This is a doorbell with a camera. Don't expect it to be a fancy 4mp 30x zoom camera because it isn't. It is a very decent camera with a wide enough angle to see who is standing in front of your door - and on both sides of it - should the person be up to no good. The Amcrest Smart Home App allows you to interact with whoever pressed the doorbell. You can hear them and they can hear you. The extra feature, and the reason why I purchased it, is that this doorbell camera works with Blue Iris. I have no need of any expensive cloud storage or an SD card as Blue Iris records for me. This alone makes this Amcrest Video Doorbell worth buying.

I'll only buy Amcrest video surveillance cameras for my home video security because of their superior 4K resolution. So when Amcrest developed a doorbell camera it was obvious that I give it a try. The unit is made very well. The exterior unit is covered in your choice of interchangeable silver or a very very dark brown/black matte finished aluminum, not plastic covers. The video clarity and its night vision are as expected, excellent. The same goes for the audio clarity and the Amcrest App.. Now if you already have an existing hardwired doorbell system you're really going to love the Amcrest system!! It comes with a small device that easily connects to the interior doorbell unit with 2 small wires, that receives the signal from the exterior unit's button. With this connected, you will still hear your regular interior doorbell sound. Which is a nice feature if you have a special sounding doorbell chime that you like and don't want to hear that cheap electronic sounding "Ding-Dong" sound that some video doorbell unit's come with. For this to work you need to have a doorbell system that's powered by a low voltage 12-14v power source, which all standard hardwired doorbell systems are, especially if you have a doorbell button that's illuminated. The small Amcrest module attaches with 2 small wires to the existing interior doorbell unit and tucks away inside. It receives a wireless signal whenever someone presses the button on the exterior unit to sound the interior doorbell. The outdoor connection is a simple 2 wire hook-up to the existing doorbell wiring. You can go o the Amcrest website for detailed wiring instructions and how to connect for non-standard wiring situations. Their product support is excellent as well,, before and after the sale!!

Everything but the actual camera
This item is ranks with most doorbells on the market. The app is quick and responsive. The Alexa sync works like a champ. The chime interface works perfect! The actual camera is just ok. It didn’t have as much fisheye as expected and objects that are up close appear really dark sometimes.... maybe it’s my application. The app doesn’t appear to have any access to change camera settings or add a schedule that allows for constant recording. Overall, I like this item because it does everything I wanted it to. I especially like the built in slot for a micro sd card.

The Amcrest Video Doorbell arrived on time and well packaged. Installation was easy - all the necessary parts were included (Masonry Drill Bit was a great plus). Inclusion and activation in the App was easy and preformed well. It has been in use for only a few days now but working as desired.
