Despite the popularity of "The Legend of Zelda" games, merchandise for the franchise has historically been scarce. That scarcity changed in 2014 when JAKKS Pacific launched their World of Nintendo line. The very first wave, titled Series 1-1, launched with a "Legend of Zelda" action figure. This four-inch figure is based on the protagonist Link. This toy focuses on the character's look from the "Skyward Sword" entry for the Nintendo Wii. The first thing that gamers and collectors will notice about this Link figure is the attention to detail with which it has been crafted. JAKKS used 3D files directly from the game itself to create this product. From his hat down to his shoes, this Link oozes detail. Link's cap features a bend near the center. This bend gives the cap the illusion of weight and perfectly replicates how it looks in the games. Link's face is one of stoic determination, ready to conquer all enemies in his path. JAKKS even made sure the little details like Link's earrings were a part of this product. These earrings are painted in the same light-blue shade as they are portrayed in the games. Link's tunic features sculpted-on detail and wrinkles, making it look like a real piece of clothing. Underneath that tunic is a layer of chain mail, with each individual link sculpted meticulously. This chain mail even pokes out underneath his sleeves. Under that layer is a long-sleeved undergarment with sculpted gloves. His brown pants also feature wrinkles in the fabric to give the illusion of movement. Lastly, his brown boots are also sculpted and full of detail. This World of Nintendo Link figure is packed full of content, coming with three important accessories. His signature weapon, the Master Sword, is appropriately scaled to his size. This weapon features intricate details, including a blue hilt and a light-blue center in the blade. When not in use, this weapon can be stored in the removable scabbard. This accessory firmly plugs into the small hole on Link's left hip. The final accessory is a mystery, stored in a question mark box in the original packaging. Both of Link's hands are open, letting you place the weapon accessories in either one. The World of Nintendo Link features over 10 points of articulation. This articulation includes ball-jointed ankles and hinges in the knees and hips. A ball-jointed torso gives Link a full range of motion in his abdomen. He also has double-jointed elbows, hinged wrists, hinged shoulders, and a ball-jointed neck. This range of movement lets you pose Link in a variety of action shots just like the moves he makes in the video games. The plastic is a combination of ABS and PVC materials.
