A4 size makes it more versatile in that you can work on larger projects. I have also ordered the A5 cutting plates for working on smaller pieces but this is not essential. Sizzix big shot pro starter kit.
I would highly recommend this starter kit. The dies with it are great. good variety and cut very well. I use my machine all the time. It will cut all different dies as well as sizzix.
