    Cat boxing ring

We have 2 kittens and wanted a cat flap to give them a bit more freedom and to save heating the house and having the heat go out an open door. Installation was straight forward enough even with a panelled upvc door, the cats learned how to use it easy enough but what they really is trying to keep each other either in or out , usually we have a cat either side of the flap whacking each other on the nose as if that isn't bad enough the hide to the side and strike when the head is completely through seems to be the tactic of choice today. A good product gives hours of fun as well as being practical xx

    Cat mate

This is the second cat mate I have purchased to add to another door but same as before the tiny springs for the battery are rubbish and you have to wiggle the battery to work also it is hit and miss to know if it is working correctly as the illumination light works when it wants to if at all and if the door is closed without ease it sometimes doesn't work

Ild electro magnetic cat flap died so needed a replacement as neighbourhood cats were starving our timid moggy by eating his food, unasked! Very pleased to find this would operate on his identity chip so no more need for a collar. Fitted the hole occupied by the old one so easy job to fit. Cat hasn't noticed any difference.

  • Great item, easy to install, deters other cats from using it.

We had a problem with another cat coming into our house and eating our cat's food as well as spraying and sleeping in her bed. This other cat was really making himself at home and didn't every run when we were present. We decided to get this Cat Flap after reading good reviews and it was the best decision we made. It's easy to program to the cat's microchip and easy to install too. No other cat can come in and our cat is much happier knowing her home is her own. She only needed some tasty chicken to temp her through the flap the first time and the rest is history! The cat flap itself does stick out more than our old one but it is not unsightly. I would definitely recommend this cat flap.

  • Worth every penny

We had a number of feral cats terrorising our two cats by coming in the house and eating their food and spraying. Put this cat flap in and the problem was solved instantly. Installation was simple. Instructions say try to get the cats through it before it's installed. That proved impossible and was much easier once it was fitted. Now works every time. Great value. Well made and simple to program.

  • Great quality.

This cat flap was easy to install in a PVC door and works well, keeping the rogue cat out of the house. Sturdy and well made. The flap itself is approx 14 cm x 14 cm. We have a small cat and he gets through, but best to check if you have a large cat, so that's why it didn't get 5 stars. Some of the other makes of cat flap are smaller, so this was the best choice, although there is a larger flap available in this brand.

  • Keeps out foreign feline invaders

An excellent catflap and well draught proofed too. Bought it to replace the standard catflap installed in our new back door by the door company. We were having invasion problems with various local moggies coming in and eating our two cats, Pepper and Bella's food. The two worst culprits were a big fluffy black male and a short haired tabby male who we called Fluffynuts coming in and spraying. I reckon that we must have boosted the profits for Febreze over the last year. Fluffynuts often turned up at 4am meowing and frrrripping. Luckily he did, but several nights woken up to chase that well known Spoonerism, the Cooking Fat, back outside. And then I spotted the CatMate chip activated catflap. It is advised to RTFM (Read The F..... Manual) before installation as once you cut the hole in the door there's no going back. Installation from there on is simplicity itself. Once the 4 alkaline AA batteries are installed, programming is theoretically simplicity itself. If you are using RFID collar tags, these can be programmed in by holding them inside the entrance tunnel before putting them on the cat's collar. In theory it is the same simple procedure to get the CatMate to register your chipped cat. It takes a couple seconds for the circuitry to register the chip, but it does entail pushing a growling, hissing, squirming, reluctant ball of fur who's paws are splayed outwards, through the tunnel. Depending on your cat, you may or may not need full length kevlar gauntlets and military grade personal armour. Fortunately Pepper and Bella are all growl and no action, plus a few cay treats are a good cure. Anyway, having mastered shoving a growling hissing ball of fur through and holding it long enough to register, the process was simple. Once registered I let go and both cats went through and turned round giving me the just-you-wait "death stare". They both got used to it very quickly and the Black Shadow, Fluffynuts, Spot and Rabbit Cat can't get in.... HAH! Humans 1 Cats 0 I can't recommend the CatMate highly enough and unlike it's predecessor doesn't turn our kitchen into a NASA wind tunnel. On the other hand Fluffynuts and the other interlopers don't recommend it at all. Febreze shares fell on this announcement.

  • Good product if your cat will co-operate!

It is exactly as advertised, robust and reasonable value for money although I would like the batteries to be included. To programme the device you cannot enter the code of your cat's chip - you have to make the cat go into/near the newly fitted catflap and go through a procedure. Our cat would not co-operate in this. The other way is to buy a collar and tag, put the tag in the catflap and go through the procedure and then put the collar with the tag on the cat. In our case the cat who has never worn a collar before is pretty disgruntled and keeps scratching to get it off. I can't get her to understand that it is stopping the local big cat from coming in and distressing her!

  • Quality product and easy to program.

Good quality product. Easily fitted into the door of a wooden garden shed so that our two microchipped cats have somewhere to shelter if they are out when it starts to rain or if they are out at night and want food or a drink. It was easy to program to both cats and the kitten was first to venture through into the shed and demonstrate to her mum just how easy it was and not to be scared of it. Would recommend to anyone thinking of fitting a secure cat flap that prevents strange cats an entry.
