Great Little Vacuum
You have to consider the purpose that you would like to get this vacuum. If it is for a One vacuum, all purpose vacuum for all your needs, then the capacity would be too small and the HP would be under. But I got this for quick clean ups around the garage and around the house, quick vacs for the car and a quick blower here and there, for that it is perfect because I don't have to set up anything nor take time to look for a nearby plug since I can use a battery. For small jobs, it is plenty powerful enough and after a quick job, I put it right back onto the shelf space in my garage until I need it again. For more bigger jobs, it would be advisable to have something like a 15gal, 5HP ShopVac level. Wimpy suction
I was disappointed because it is well designed in the fact that it is well balanced and compact but very underpowered. I have a 18 volt ridgid vac of similar size which is much more efficient. I purchased the Dewalt because it did look to be better laid out and more manageable while transporting and that is correct but has nothing close to the suction I would have expected. I did know that it’s holding capacity was smaller but being a wet dry shop vac I would have expectedly to be more powerful. Battery or Cord, works anywhere
Maybe I should have read the description better, but, I wasn't expecting an AC power cord to be included. Even though it's only 6' long, still better than buying the DeWalt ac to battery adapter for $49. While I would have preferred the Makita vac, I bought the DeWalt to stay unified within the 20VMax battery system. The included hose is one of those stretchable vacuum hoses that is basically worthless beyond its' state (like Dyson hoses). Fighting the hose & suction makes it hard to use one handed; you either fight dragging the vac along or the nozzle getting pulled out of your hand. My solution was adding a 10' section of normal shop vac hose.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Its great for what it is.
Its a little less powerful than the 5 gallon bucket vacs. For final clean up its pretty good good. It does not topple over as easy as most wet vacs. The best part is it is cordless. BATTERY. It was noticeably slower with the cord vs battery. You will get the most power from a battery. I used 5 ah batteries. The battery in it lasted me 3 days of several short term uses before it ran down. On a new charge I ran one session for about 20 minutes before it needed a charge. This is in real world use cleaning up after myself as I worked. The last 20 minute session was the one area I neglected till the end of the job. ATTACHMENTS The way they rigged the attachments is is very simple and easy to access and put back. I wish the hose was about 2 feet longer, and had a brush attachment fitted on-board. FILTER You must keep the filter clean for it to be decent. I had to blow the filter off once. Be careful if you use a blow gun the filter is many thin layers of paper and will blow apart easily. Its would be a good idea to hunt a filter for this unit when you get it. Overall I recommend this vacuum. This unit is not very strong, but strong enough small for small quick clean ups. If you need for 20 minute sessions often you will be frustrated. I clean as I go, so this is good for the most part. I hope Dewalt makes this exact sized unit with triple the power.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This cordless vacuum is light weight, has great suction, and convenient. It is a must have unit.
This version Dewalt DCV584H 18/20 volt max. vacuum works great. A new Dewalt vacuum is coming out in 2019 but a lot bigger and powerful. I am pleased with the size of this unit and the suction provided. I am very pleased that I can just hold this vacuum in one hand and vacuum my car and home steps conveniently without a cord. Really mobile vacuum
After years of running a 150’ extension cord to my dock to vacuum my pontoon carpet this little guy is awesome! I’ve been able to vacuum my 20’ pontoon twice on a single 20v 5.hm battery and still have more battery left. Now that being said it’s not quite a power monster like my old huge shopvac but because it’s SO easy to grab and use I’m sure I’ll be using this a lot more! It’s pretty awesome that it will run on 3 power sources (18v 20v and the cord)! Very happy with its capacity and design. If your a dewalt tool owner and need a nice project vacuum then this is a must!

Good Value corded or cordless
I have used these cordless models for years on the boat.. Now use one for const work. easy to clean up sawdust or Sheetrock debris... and easy to carry around..> will wear out a battery pretty quick though... so have a back up or charger if you plan to use it a lot...
