Sealed or painted timbers must be stripped back to bare wood before coating. Apply liberally, soaking the timber to achieve best results. Ensure all timbers are structurally sound, dry and free from surface growths.

Excellent product
In these difficult times when it seems impossible to buy anything one needs for the garden, after one huge disappointment, with one other trader on eBay, I was delighted to be able to buy this 20 litre drum of dark brown creosote. It arrived very promptly, I was amazed at that, considering how long other purchases were taking to arrive. Creosote is a great product to treat fences with. It appears to be a white spirit product so it is very watery but it protects outdoor timbers far better than the “fence paint” you can buy. I love it and wouldn’t consider using anything else!

Regular use keeps the green algae away .

Good Value Branded Product.
Have been using Creocote for years and find it to be as good a wood treatment as any. It goes a lot further and lasts longer than many of the other 'decorative' treatments which are on the market these days and which look awful when they start to weather. This particular buy was a recognised brand for a very competitive price and I will be buying another 20 litres to have in stock for when needed. Covers well ,nice dark colour and the rain just runs off . I re do every 3 to 4 years and paint the concrete kickboard with Sandtex Cornish Cream . Looks quite smart

Just like the real thing. UPDATE a year on. still happy.
This product was due for delivery on the thursday and arrived early on the Tuesday. Within half an hour of arrival my son and I attacked the fence. Old timber that soaked the creocote straight in. Just like using the real thing, painted on easily and looked just the same when on. I purchased the dark which is just like dark creosote in colour. How long it will last I dont know but has been soaked in beautifully, not sliding about the surface like other greasy fence paints so I feel optimistic. Very reasonable price, I bought 20 litres as I have a lot to do. Might get more and paint the garage as well. UPDATE MARCH 2021 still looking good, still rejecting rain and snow, has "weathered" in a positive way for want of a better description. Easy to apply with good coverage.
The product provided good coverage without the need for a second coat. It was easy to apply, out of preference I used a brush and covered fencing over a distance of 90 feet with circa 25 litres. Used recently on fencing that was light grey and well overdue a coating, this makes the fence look like new and the rain beads off it nicely, the wood drinks it rather than other products that just coat the wood.
