Disappointing Shelf-life
While the price of this item is competitive, a label on the packaging of the kit (which was delivered today) shows that the "use by" date is 01/09/2018. I have paid a bit more for test kits in the past, but they have generally had a couple of years of useful life, certainly more than 5 months. I guess that is why this item is so cheap. If you are a regular visitor to France, buy a breathalyser kit over the counter, where you can check the use-by date. The advertising for this device implies that it meets French 'NF' approval standards and, therefore, it meets French legal requirements. This is entirely false and misleading. Only devices that are 'NF' tested, approved, and stamped with the 'NF' logo meet the French legal requirements. Whilst this device MAY have been tested to the same standards, the testing has not been checked and approved by the relevant and authorised authorities. Some confusion on where required or not. As a precaution I have decided to purchase two just in case. Did my research and found the above acceptable for our family holiday needs. I have no inclination to actually use them. It's just a safe guard. Purchased and arrived on time. Excellent service.
