The Anova sous vide cooker is must have for the accomplished foodie, or for the professional chef.

Poor instruction
The unit works very well and holds the temperature at the set point. It has builtin wife to work with your smart phone. The only problem I have with it is that I do not have a smart phone to set the timer. I had to order a plug in timer to shut the unit down. The timer I got only goes up to 24 hours. If I need to cook longer than 24 hours I have to set the timer the next day or hope that I don't forget to turn it off when the cooking time is up. 99% will not have connection problems.
With the display controls if you have connection (wifi) problems you can use the app - get the temp/time info and key that info in. If you are the 1% like me you have to do network troubleshooting. I had to do the following: 1. Make router 2.4 ghz radio visible (not hidden). 2. Temporarily turn off 5 ghz radio. 3. Re-install smartphone app to clear out prior settings (clean the slate) 4. Set smartphone to 2.4 ghz not 5.0 ghz. (Anova works only with 2.4 ghz.) 5. Move anova and smartphone to the room where the router is. 6. Plug anova into power, press connect on the smartphone app and follow directions. Now that I got it working - it's a beautiful thing - find recipe in app press button "cook this" and you are off. If I wasn't a retired network engineer I would have had to call Anova to walk me through the above steps. The key take away- do all the initial connection 6 feet away from your router. Also if you fail at a connection attempt - uninstall app and reinstall before trying a second (or third) time. Nice product- app is fabulous.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great & easy.
First time attempting to cook meat via a "water bath" but I read so many positive reviews I had to try it. Amazing how moist and juice even a lower grade of meat like a london broil can turn out. The best Sous Vide cooker on the market from a huge sous vide cooking fan
I have become quite a fan of and very good at cooking sous vide! I use it for many things! This is my second Anova of this model as sometimes I cook in bulk, and one just didn't do the trick. I tried an Inkbird though it was a disaster compared to the Anova. For example, one of our favorites is lean chicken breasts. I will sometimes do 30 at a time. As they are vacuum sealed prior to cooking, I will freeze them and thaw as needed. And they do last a long time with no fear of freezer burn being vacuum sealed. Fish is great in sous vide. As are vegetables, eggs even various fruits. Perhaps you know sous vide has been used commercially in restaurants for many years! It became prominent in restaurants in the 1970's to avoid waste though it was fairly recently the home sous vide cooker became available. The best part is set-it and forget it. You cannot overcook as it maintains proper temperature, though, to be fair there is a maximum time for the best results. Preparing a whole chicken can be from 6-8 hours. After about 10 hours the meat starts to break down though is still edible. So yeah great product!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

New with a broken face but useable
The product was actually new. But... there is always a but..the unit's face was cracked. A thank you note attached to the unit said thank you for purchasing the item as it saved it from being sent to the land fill. I agree and appreciate the idea. I just wish that information had been shared ahead of time. I put a line of Super Glue over the crack on the face and then added a screen protector to the top of that.
