I read the reviews and it does exactly as everyone says it does
I had it with Skype. It was hit and miss on calls. When I was on the phone, quite often it would just lose the connection. Audio quality was excellent but having calls end without my wanting them to was not acceptable. Did some research and found this device. It got really good reviews and so I decided to try it. Glad I did. Audio quality is good....not as good as Skype but so far no dropped calls. I like the interface on the internet on the Obihai. Easier to access than Skype. Costs are less expensive with Obihai and Google Phone. Device works as it should and easy to hook up. Lots of videos on how to install and use. I recommend this device. CUTTING THE BILL IN HALF WITH COMCAST
i am was getting tired of paying for Comcast 30$ landline phone services so since i use google voice with my byop food stamp phone by safe link i been using google voice to get unlimited calling so since Comcast no longer offer the eco voice no more where you can only make calls in the usa for 20$ witch they no longer offer. so for me doing my home work and downgrade to internet only and bring my own rotor i have save 50$ on my Comcast account this is highly recommend for you only want internet you can get a fire tv and jail brake to continue watching cable tv for FREE and this box as your land line service is also FREE so i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS for saving moneyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

I wanted to replace my original Magic Jack and this device fit the bill perfectly. Incredibly easy to set up physically, though I thought the web account was a tad tricky....all ended well. Now, after many years of having Grand Central/Google Voice, I'm able to route free GV calls to my regular phones instead of depending on my main computer or my tablet, which often had echo issues, even while using closed headphones. My OBi200 didn't have any echo at all, and that is both a frustration saver, and even a relationship saver. My boss can now hear me clearly, as can friends and family. I subscribe to Comcast's 25mb internet service a la carte, and I've never seen any service degredation while making calls via VoIP. I'll have to be sure to use a 2-jack splitter so I can use my fax machine. DO BE SURE to connect the power adapter to a UPS, along with the cable modem. No, I don't have 911 service with this device, but I at least know the back line numbers for my 911 center. Small potatoes for me, but some reading this review may absolutely require 911 service, therefore a traditional landline may be a wiser move.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good product, good value. Makes creating or porting home lines to Google Voice very easy. Also great to have a dedicated fax line, even if I had to slow the transmission speed in order to complete connections with most machines. Quality product and prompt shipping. A great way to get free phone service using the Google Voice service!
After having used this device for several months now, I have to say that it is the best investment I have made. It allows me to have a "home" phone with the ability to send and receive faxes without any cost other than the device itself. This was thanks to the Google Voice service. The following should be considered: * Small device is easy to hide if necessary. * Easy to configure. * No 911 service if using Google Voice * Requires broadband internet service * Would recommend using a wired connection for optional call clarity. * Has the ability to use multiple providers for VOIP It has been so great, some friends have opted to buy one as well and set it up with Google Voice saving hundreds in phone bills. should have bought years ago
Have thought about using voip for years but finally decided to give a try , i figured i could alway go back to verizon. I won't be going back. works great can't tell the difference between the landlaine and voip. OBI200 works perfect . Setup was easy with google voice. if you don't need to port your home number you are all set .porting was a little bit of a process but not hard . I tell everyone i know about the OBI200 for the cost of the device you basicly have free phone. Great product. Easy setup through Google Voice.
I ordered this just to test the fax capabilities on old Officejet printers. This thing was a snap to setup. I followed the directions and was up and going in about five minutes. Basically you just plug the device in, then you need to go setup a google voice account if you don't already have one. It is free and you get your own phone number. After that the obi device found my number and I was able to send test faxes from the HP printer in no time. You need a lanline phone to setup the device. I was able to dial everything it needed right from the fax machine. The machine did not have a receiver. I just had to listen to the tones for it to finish setup. Great device. Easy setup. One thing. works great but you have to know what you are doing, as the help desk is not much help. voice quality is great, if you are porting a land line it is a long and convoluted process when integrating google voice.
