Excellent QoS, DumaOS, poor parental controls
I purchased the XR500 Gaming Router specifically for the Quality of Service features, and it did not disappoint. The Anti-Bufferbloat throttles total bandwidth to keep my household under the 1TB data cap imposed by my ISP. Traffic Prioritization ensures my ITTT gadgets (there are many) do not interfere with streaming and browsing. The router has Bandwidth Allocation to hard limit the bandwidth consumed per device (at the device level). My prior router, Archer C9 V1, used this approach (called Bandwidth Control). With the new QoS technology, though, I found limiting bandwidth per device no longer necessary. DumaOS has an excellent user level controls and interface. The parental controls are insufficient. Get this router if you are gaming on a discount and want power
Great router for gaming, but I don't recommend this router for novices to networking. While it makes things easy, it does have many features you will only understand if you are tech savvy. The wireless range for 5GHZ band isn't as good as my previous AC2400 Nighthawk, but still good. This router shines for gaming, where you can use DumaOS and use the geofilter feature which controls which players / servers can connect to you and play with you. There is even a beta DumaOS program that while awesome, does void your warranty on a brand-new/refurbished unit of the XR500.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Awesome expensive router

Great Router will lower your ping 100%
I was skeptical as to how well this router would actually work with lowering my ping with its geo-filtering, but after owning this product for about a month or so, I would highly recommend this router as it lowers your ping and does not allow you to connect to a server outside of your radius. Nice router but could use more features.
Pretty nice router but kind of expensive. For the hardware it has it should have more features. On my old Asus router I was able to configure a VPN client for 1 of my devices but not for the rest. Would've liked that option for this.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
